Hi I am Santhoshi, I am presently doing my II yr Visual Communication at so called reputed college in chennai. I would like to share some of my personal and societal viewpoints here, as I have been briefed enough about how personal and entertaining these blogs are.... So, I would first tell about myself, I am a very reserved, not much speaking girl probably introverted as one of my lecturers tells me., which I guess is to some extent true. So, from today on I would like to keep posting each and every point that mushrooms in my mind to be posted here.
Today I happened to be in college right from 8.am till 1.30 p.m. No actual brain warming rather we had only a good physical training sessions moving from one block of the building to other. Actually speaking this had been an important question whether colleges function to keep their students filled with rich knowledge and make them intellectually prepared and powered or just to bundle up a sumptuous amount as fee which almost includes tution, lab, donation, NSS, NCC, Red cross, Welfare, Annual day fee, Diwali celebration, Pongal celeb, etc.etc., but still fail to provide a good education that is cry of the hour.
Terrible to see the situation of Chennai at this rate. I'm not sure about the teaching methodology that is going on in other colleges, coz i've not taken up any survey or research as such. But quite aware that teaching which is supposed to be considered as a sacred and noble job is being made commercial not just commercial, overwhelming selfishness that has started growing in the minds of the founder, secretary, correspondent , principal, teaching and non-teaching staff, to be more precise right from head to tail had finally lead to deterioration of learning.
I will explain you a peice of scenario that is presently being faced by me in the college. My lecturer for the major subject, if i should properly describe is a lady without brain. I've read so many purnas and I know "Acharya Devo Bhava" which will apply only to teachers who respect their job and who are dutiful and who always try to digest the money they earn by proper rendering of their service, nothing of the above will apply to my lecturer. She is one who wants students who are at her doorstep or staffroom doorstep to be best. And who denies equal oppurtunities to all. Who is very very generous to expose and make her partiallity apparent to other students in the class.
